Qingdao Medical University
Qingdao University is a new comprehensive university in Shandong Province and one of top international medical university in China, which was combined with the former Qingdao University, Shandong Textile Engineering Institute, Qingdao Medical College and Qingdao Teachers College in 1993.
QU comprises of 25 colleges, 73 specialties with undergraduate programs covering literature, history, philosophy, law, economics, management, natural sciences, engineering, medical science, education, etc. There are 25 provincial key disciplines, laboratories, and engineering research centers, and 66 specialties with doctor and master programs.
We have 2,000 teachers, including one member of Chinese Academy of Science, two members of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and another 7 external academicians, 281 full professors, 868 associate professors.
International exchange programs have been established with more than 40 universities and regions, including the USA, Britain, Germany, Japan, Russia, Canada, Australia, etc.
Now the wheel of history has steered into the 21st century and the new millennium. A new era of reform and development has begun. QU also faces unprecedented new challenges and opportunities.
We are determined to seize the opportunities and meet the challenge. To do this, QU must insist her aim of development: ¡°to be open-minded, internationalized and high-graded¡±, must maintain its focus on teaching and research, on development, must strengthen international contacts to become a bridge for cultural, scientific and technological exchanges between the east and the west of the world.
We are striving to do all of these much harder than before, in order to make QU to be a domestically advanced, internationally renowned university
International Exchange:
As a comprehensive university, to be open-minded, internationalized and high-graded has always been the aim of our university. The leaders of QU always pay great attention to the exchange and cooperation with foreign universities on education, academic and scientific research and so on. To build an internationalized university which faces the 21st century has always been the aim of the University’s development. Now we have already established long-term contacts of exchange and cooperation with more than 40 universities and organizations from nearly thirty countries and regions. Every year there are many experts who come to visit our university to give lectures and teach frequently. Moreover, many kinds of academic exchanges such as cooperation with overseas universities, researching organizations and enterprises on academic and scientific research, developing technical projects, running schools, are frequently every year. We have explored actively and achieved gratifying successes on official-sending our staff members and students to work research and study abroad, on cooperation with overseas universities on running schools.
International exchange programs have been established with more than 40 universities and twinning agreements have been signed with 20 universities in 50 countries and regions, including the USA, Britain, Germany, Japan, Russia, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Israel, It is one of the two Universities with the major to enroll foreign students in Shandong and an HSK test center has been established in the University.
In the new century, Qingdao University will develop its school spirit and strive to bring the University into a highly-developed, internationalized new type of comprehensive university with emphasis on its openness to the world.
Hostel Facility:
The college provides hostel to the international students. Three persons share a room with air conditioner, attached bathroom, color TV, telephone, bed with required amenities and furniture, free hot drinking--- water heater, refrigerator, public laundry and kitchen, internet access. Students are required to pay the electricity and water they used.
Suitability for Students:
(1) Under the age of 30 years and in good health;
(2) With an excellent command over English Language;
(3) Have a capability of adjusting to life;
(4) Have the degree of preparatory or equivalent degree with good results;
(5) Obey the Chinese laws and university regulation during study period;
(6) Have a good financing support.
